Terms of service
Last updated 4 October 2026
In short: CAD Blocks uses AI to draw 2D CAD blocks from your photos. Each drawing is a first draft, so check it before you issue it. Subscriptions renew every month until you cancel, and a drawing that fails doesn't use a block.
1. Who we are
CAD Blocks, at cadblocks.app (the "service"), is run by Devin Jones, a sole trader in the United Kingdom trading as CAD Blocks ("we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@cadblocks.app. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the service.
2. The service
CAD Blocks turns photos, screenshots and spec sheets of furniture and other items into 2D CAD blocks: a plan, a front elevation and a side elevation, delivered as a DXF file. The drawings are made by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) and then fitted in code to the sizes you give.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code that we email to you. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in to your account, so keep it secure. You must be 18 or over to use the service.
An account is for one person. On the Studio plan, the account owner can invite up to four more people to share the plan's blocks and library.
4. Plans, blocks and payment
- One block is one item drawn, which gives you its plan, front and side in one file. Resizing a finished block is free. Drawing an item again uses another block.
- The free plan includes 3 blocks each calendar month.
- Pay-as-you-go blocks are sold 5 or more at a time, paid for in advance, and don't expire. They're used once any monthly and bonus blocks have run out.
- Invite bonus: if you join through someone's invite link, your new account gets 10 bonus blocks. When you draw your first block or first pay us, the person who invited you gets 10 bonus blocks too, for up to 20 people they invite. Bonus blocks don't expire and are used after your monthly blocks. They have no cash value and can't be transferred or refunded. One invite link can bring in up to 5 people a day and 50 in all. Invites between accounts on the same network (for example the same office), or to another address of an existing or closed account, don't earn bonus blocks. We may withhold or remove bonus blocks that come from fake or duplicate accounts.
- Pro and Studio are monthly subscriptions, paid in advance. They renew automatically each month until you cancel. Each billing month comes with its allowance of blocks (40 on Pro, 150 on Studio), and unused monthly blocks don't roll over.
- If a drawing fails, the block it used is returned to your account automatically.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. You see the price before you pay, and prices include any taxes we're required to charge.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will try again over the following days. If it still can't be taken, your account moves to the free plan.
- We may change prices. We'll email you at least 30 days before a change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it applies.
5. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time from your Account page. Your plan keeps working until the end of the billing month you've paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. Your library and any pay-as-you-go blocks stay in your account.
6. Your right to cancel and refunds
If you're a consumer in the UK, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content or a digital service. When you start a drawing, you're asking us to supply it straight away, and you agree that you lose the right to cancel for the blocks you've used.
If you ask within 14 days of a purchase, we'll refund pay-as-you-go blocks you haven't used, and the first month of a subscription if no blocks were drawn in it. Email hello@cadblocks.app from the address on your account. None of this affects your legal rights if the service is faulty.
7. Accuracy of the drawings
Blocks are AI-generated first drafts. Overall sizes match the sizes you enter. Proportions and details are interpreted from your photos, and parts the photos don't show, such as the back of an item, are inferred. Estimated sizes are only estimates.
You're responsible for checking each block against the manufacturer's information before you use it in drawings you issue. Blocks are meant for space planning and specification drawings. Don't use them for manufacturing, fabrication or structural purposes.
8. Your content and your blocks
- You keep ownership of the photos, PDFs and notes you upload. You must have the right to use them, for example product photos you're allowed to use for your projects.
- You allow us to store and process your uploads to provide the service. That includes sending them to our AI provider so it can draw your blocks.
- The blocks we make for you are yours to use in your work, including in drawings for your clients. A block of a product doesn't give you any rights in that product's design, which may belong to someone else.
- We keep your uploads and blocks until you delete them or close your account.
- Blocks in our free library (cadblocks.app/library) are free to use in your own projects, including drawings for clients. Please don't redistribute them as part of a block library or collection.
9. Fair use
Please don't:
- upload anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to use;
- try to get into other people's accounts or data;
- overload, scrape, reverse engineer or disrupt the service, or create accounts or drawings by automated means;
- share one person's account between several people (the Studio plan is for teams);
- sell or give away blocks in bulk as a block library or competing service without our written permission.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the service running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve features. If a change significantly reduces what you've paid for, we'll tell you, and you can cancel and get a refund for the unused part of that billing month.
If we ever close the service, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your blocks, and we'll refund unused pay-as-you-go blocks and any paid time that's left.
11. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. You can close your account at any time by emailing us, and we'll delete your data as described in the privacy notice.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
If you're a consumer, we're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.
If you use the service for business, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can cancel before then.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
