Standard sofa dimensions

Most three-seater sofas are 1900 to 2300 mm wide, 850 to 1000 mm deep and 750 to 900 mm high, with the seat about 420 to 480 mm above the floor. Two-seaters are usually 1500 to 1800 mm wide, and a corner sofa often runs 2200 to 2800 mm along each side. Arm widths alone can change the width by 300 mm, so draw the exact model from its spec sheet. CAD Blocks (cadblocks.app) draws a sofa block from its photo at the exact size.

Sizes are typical ranges in millimetres, not standards. Seats are usually 420 to 480 mm high and about 500 to 600 mm deep.

Space around a sofa

A common rule of thumb is about 450 mm between the sofa and the coffee table, and about 900 mm for a main walkway. Check that the sofa fits through the doors and up the stairs: measure its depth and the diagonal of the doorway.

  1. Add the product

Paste a link to the product page, or drop in a photo, a screenshot from the maker's website or a PDF spec sheet. You can add up to four images of the same item.

  2. Give the size

Type the width, depth and height from the spec sheet. Every view is fitted to those three sizes, so the plan and both elevations agree.

  3. Download the DXF

The plan, front and side arrive as three named blocks, drawn true size in millimetres or inches. Insert them into your drawing.
