UK bed sizes in mm
UK mattress sizes are: single 900 × 1900 mm, small double 1200 × 1900 mm, double 1350 × 1900 mm, king 1500 × 2000 mm and super king 1800 × 2000 mm. These are mattress sizes: the frame adds about 50 to 150 mm, and a headboard adds more, so check the bed's own size before you draw a bedroom layout. Sizes are width × length in millimetres. A US California king is 1829 × 2134 mm. Makers vary by a few centimetres, so a UK double can be sold as 1370 or 1380 mm wide.
The bed is bigger than the mattress
The frame adds about 50 to 150 mm to the width and length, and a headboard or footboard adds more. An upholstered bed with a deep headboard can be 300 mm longer than its mattress. Draw the bed's overall size from the maker's spec sheet, not the mattress size.
A common rule of thumb is about 700 mm of clear floor beside and at the foot of the bed, and not less than 600 mm where space is tight.

Questions
Is a UK king the same size as a US king?
No. A UK king is 1500 × 2000 mm, about the size of a US queen (1524 × 2032 mm). A US king is 1930 mm wide, wider than a UK super king.
What size is a European double?
1400 × 2000 mm. A European king is usually 1600 × 2000 mm.
Do bed sizes include the frame?
No. The named sizes are for the mattress. The frame and headboard add to them, so use the bed's overall size on your drawings.
